Photogrammetry Specialist
Full-time (36–40 hours) · Drachten, the Netherlands
Kavel 10 is an aerial survey company operating across Western Europe. We fly our own aircraft with our own camera and LiDAR systems, and process all data in-house. In addition to project work for clients, we run our own nationwide aerial imagery programme for the Netherlands.
To strengthen our processing team, we are looking for an experienced photogrammetry specialist who can take ownership of large, technically demanding production projects.
What will you do?
You will be responsible for processing aerial imagery into high-quality photogrammetric products, from raw data to final delivery.
Our environment includes:
- A varying range of sensors, from Ultracam Osprey, Ultracam Eagle to IGI Pentacam and different Riegl Lidar sensors
- Vexcel UltraMap, Trimble Inpho and Catalyst Earth as the main processing platforms
- A processing cluster of more than 200 nodes and high-end GPU workstations
- Large-scale storage for very high data volumes
- Riegl LiDAR systems for combined imagery and LiDAR projects
You will work on:
- Processing projects end to end in specific photogrammetric software: raw data processing, radiometric corrections, aerotriangulation, DSM extraction, true ortho and classic ortho production;
- Our yearly nationwide program of the Netherlands, as well as client projects in the Netherlands and abroad;
- Quality control on accuracy, radiometry and mosaicking;
- Translating tender and client specifications into a processing plan and final deliverables;
- Automating and optimising the processing workflow;
- Documenting and standardising processes.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, works independently and likes to take ownership of complex projects.
Key requirements:
- Good command of English. Dutch is a plus;
- Based in the EU;
- At least 2 years of experience in large-scale photogrammetric production;
- Hands-on experience with Vexcel UltraMap, Trimble Inpho, Catalyst (PCI);
- Knowledge of GIS software such as QGIS and Safe FME
- A thorough understanding of aerotriangulation, GNSS/IMU principles, ground control and accuracy assessment;
- Scripting experience, preferably Python;
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a critical eye for quality;
Nice to have:
- Experience with oblique imagery or 3D mesh production;
- Experience with LiDAR processing (Terrasolid, LAStools);
- Experience with distributed or cluster-based processing.
